AmeriCold announces additional capacity for blast freezing and improvements to its Columbia, South Carolina facility. The half-million-dollar investment will be completed in May 2006 and includes the construction of two blast cells, modification of the existing refrigeration system and installation of new storage racks within the 1.6 million cubic foot facility.
AmeriCold's decision to fund the project is due to growing industry demand for frozen product storage within the Southeast region. AmeriCold's Columbia, South Carolina facility holds a Certificate of Excellence from the National Frozen Food Association.
